Pallet preparation
Before collection, your pallet must be properly prepared for international air transit. Pallets will be loaded and unloaded multiple times during their journey and may be exposed to vibration, pressure changes and handling at multiple depots and airports.
Follow these steps to prepare your pallet correctly:
Use a strong, new four-way pallet that is free from damage or weakness
Stack your boxes in straight columns and ensure nothing overhangs the edges of the pallet
Secure the contents using strapping and corner supports
Wrap the pallet generously with shrink wrap, covering both the goods and the base
Ensure weight is distributed evenly across the pallet surface
Do not allow any part of the goods to protrude beyond the edges of the pallet
Unbalanced or unsecured pallets are more likely to be damaged in transit and may affect your ability to make a claim if something goes wrong.
